Survey on Artificial Meat

Dear Colleague,
In France, a great debate is occuring about artificial meat. One group of students is working on that subject and has made a small survey https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1i6szBRg7isf-Ysz2bzO2JCWPpgIMgdOIPxgmGWL9eI4/viewform
Please, would you be kind enough to answer this survey and to disseminate it in your country and outside your country to all your friends, family, and students (using facebook and other tools) ? The idea is to get as many answers as possible all over the World to have robust statisticegards,

Update on Social Media Tools

Dear ALL,
A range of new collaborative technologies such as social networking sites, file sharing tools, crowdsourcing systems, wikis, and almost too many others to name—are fundamentally changing the way we communicate and connect. It has changed the way of working in all spheres of the economy so rapidly that keeping pace and understanding their usefulness is often daunting.

At the Faculty of Agriculture, we have organised  3 CTA-funded WEB 2 tools training sessions  in July 2012 and Jan 2013 to showcase their uses to stakeholders in the agriculture sector. Yet in the span of a year, new tools have come up and more examples on their uses are being reported daily.

To keep up with the rapid change in communication and collaborative technologies, check out this new link for its rich content and for helpful explanations on using webtools and social media for learning, collaboration, planning etc at http://foundationcenter.org/gainknowledge/research/pdf/collab-tech.pdf and an easy to use website http://collaboration.grantcraft.org/

Thank You and keep sharing !!!!!!!

Online survey on career aspirations of final year students

To  final year students of the Faculty of Agriculture.

The HRDC is implementing the above project in collaboration with UOM.

The main objective of the survey will be to ‘assess the career aspirations of final year students’.

The findings of the survey would be used as basis to invite selected and relevant industry resource persons to:

§  interface with students and present them real career perspectives and requirements from different industrial spheres,

§  clarify any misconceptions that they may have in terms of career aspirations, requirement, expectations, rewards, among others

The ultimate aim of such an initiative would be to contribute towards improving the career awareness and employability of university graduates, through evidence-based career talks by industry representatives.

We are currently running an online survey to collect basic information. The questionnaire can be accessed athttp://www.instant.ly/s/C87T6  and it takes 7-8 minutes to be completed.

Thanking you for your assistance

Kind regards

The agricultural revolution - Videos from CTA

"We increasingly hear about innovation taking place in Africa and other countries in the South. ICTs appears to be in the driving seat. Do these testimonies reflect localised initiatives or are there any significant trends at national and continental level? Let’s see what the numbers are telling us. It is an impressive capture of the power of ICT on a global coverage. The use of ICT must be in all sectors with the most emphasis on Agriculture.
