The Principal Tech of the APS Department, Ms Marie Claire Retires

The Academic and technical staff of the Agricultural Production and Systems (APS) department, Faculty of Agriculture joined together on 24 June 2016 to bid farewell to Miss Pic Sin (Marie Claire) LEE HUNG CHUEN after her 38 years of loyal service at the University of Mauritius.

At the gathering, past memories of her work at the Faculty flooded the joyous ambiance. We  cherished the good moments and drawn lessons from the not so good ones during the time we spent working together. She was praised for her dedication, team leadership skills and an inspirational role model, esp for the young recruits.

On the 01 July 2016 same was organized for all staff by the Dean, Prof S. Facknath. 

I wish to thank each and everyone of you for your friendly presence, nice wishes, marvelous bouquet (made up of 38 red roses)  and wonderful gift.
Thank you all for your constant support, positive encouragement and valuable advice during all those years. I'll always treasure all the sweet memories of these past days. Good Bye and may you all achieve with success your goals at FOA!

We wish her a fruitful and happy retirement.  

In a brief note of appreciation on 24 June 2016 she humbly said:
Thank you all, for your presence, warm wishes and fabulous gift.
Indeed time has flied so fast and  it's time for me to exit from FOA , as Shakespeare famous quote in 'As You like it"

•  HoD Dr. A. Ruggoo for his ever encouraging attitude and advice but without interfering unnecessarily. giving me carte blanche for the management of labs
• the lecturers of the Animal Section: Dr, F. Driver ( organizer of the get together) and Mr. K.Boodhoo (responsible for the nice posting on the Faculty blog) with whom I have worked since they joined UoM.I treasure all the memorable moments we share especially the practicals and research projects on Farm
• Technical staff APS for their dedication , cooperation, team spirit

To conclude,  as we are talking so much of role models these days , I can say that for us Technical staff Mrs. F. Driver is our role model for her professionalism, integrity, intellectual rigour and kindly understanding.
