Launching of the Food Literacy and Sustainable Nutrition (FOLSUN) Initiative of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mauritius

 

  

 

 

The official launching of the Food Literacy and Sustainable Nutrition (FOLSUN) Initiative of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Mauritius by Dr the Hon Arvin Boolell, Minister of AgroIndustry, Food Security, Blue Economy and Fisheries amidst faculty members and students, valued partners from both the public and private sectors, as well as representatives from NGOs on the 25 September 2025 . Their
participation underscores the collective commitment to fostering a healthier and more sustainable future through education and collaboration.

 

 

We were deeply honoured to have Professor William Chen Wei Ning, Michael Fam Endowed Chair Professor in Food Science & Technology, Nanyang Technological University Singapore as our keynote speaker. He delivered a very insightful speech on “Future-ready and Regenerative Agri-food Systems for Global Food Security: A Singapore Perspective “ enriching the event with his expertise and perspective.

 

 

The FOLSUN initiative marks a significant step forward in empowering individuals, communities, and enterprises by building their capacity, enhancing skills, and fostering strong networks. It aims to promote informed food choices, support sustainable practices, and drive positive change across various sectors. Ultimately, it is a comprehensive initiative dedicated to benefiting people and the planet, promoting health, sustainability, and resilience for a better future for all. 

 

It will span over 2 years We warmly invite everyone to join us in this important journey.
