Prof J. Manrakhan was one of the VCs of the UoM. He is still a prolific writer and has a style and genre of writing that is difficult to emulate. In this article he gave us an histrorical insight on the evolution of the knowledge hub in Mauritius, including the making of the Agriculture School today known as the Faculty of Agriculture and in the end he made some serious reflections that all of us should ponder on.
