Agriculture, water and climate change in Africa

Over the course of the last century, our planet has become warmer but in particular over the last 50 years it is now recognized that human activities are largely responsible for this warming. Watch this video for an EU funded project for the African continent.

Food security is now clearly at the top of the global agenda. Following on from our 2011 event with Graziano da Silva. The Economist will again be bringing together over 150 business leaders, policy-makers and experts from around the world to discuss Africa’s role in solving the global food crisis. African Knowledge Portal

In January 2011, The Africa Portal is an online knowledge resource for policy-related issues on Africa was launched. It is an undertaking by the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), Makerere University (MAK), and the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA), the Africa Portal offers open access to a suite of features including an online library collection; a resource for opinion and analysis; an experts directory; an international events calendar; and a mobile technology component—all aimed to equip users with research and information on Africa’s current policy issues.
